Provides assistance to Mayo Medical Center patients, visitors and staff throughout the Mayo campus and the city of Rochester. Communicates information accurately in a pleasant and efficient manner to a variety of people, including patients, visitors, medical center staff and other departments. The information desk attendant functions as a resource to these groups and is familiar with multiple medical center resources including lost and found items. The information desk attendant carries out all aspects of the job while displaying good judgment and problem solving skills and assumes the responsibility of self-development within the role.
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous hospital or clinical experience in a customer related field is preferred. Must be able to work independently. Requires good communication, telephone and human relation skills to interact with staff, visitors and patients. Strong problem solving skills are necessary. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress. Works varied hours which may include days, evenings, days/evenings, holidays, and weekends with rotating days off. Basic computer skills preferred.
$17.20 – $23.09 / hour
May start as early as 6:00 AM or work till 6:30 PM
